The Postural Massage Courses offered at RSM International Academy are particularly interesting for therapists and body workers looking to improve and deepen their practice. We also welcome motivated massage students on a journey to become valuable professionals.

The backbone of this program consists of 3 main massage courses, Trigger Point Therapy,  Deep Tissue Massage and Myofascial Release & Stretching, that you can take separately.

• The 3 Main Courses: Trigger Point therapy, Deep Tissue massage and Myofascial Release and stretching take place from Monday to Friday, over 4 hours each day, between 10:00 and 15:00, with a 1-hour lunch break.

• The optional evening courses are typically 2.5 hours in the latter part of the day, from 16:00 to 20:00. These classes are available only when you take one of the main courses. 

• Private massage training is available for massage therapists of all levels, from beginners to advanced. Learn the essential techniques for lower back, shoulder, and neck pain and spine mobility.

• Participate in RSM's weekend workshops to distinguish yourself in your professional field. Our focus on practical massage techniques aims to optimize outcomes. With the guidance of renowned experts, you'll acquire a professional skill set in a short duration of time.

• In addition, as a refresher course for professionals or for a much needed foundation for students of massage therapy, RSM offers a weekend course in Functional Anatomy.

• Class sizes are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 7 students, to foster professional palpation skills and acquire practical massage expertise.

By enrolling in a course, students can expect to gain a comprehensive understanding of massage therapy and develop the skills necessary to provide effective treatments for pain relief and posture correction.

To make sure you learn information fitting your experience and expectations, there are also 5 optional evening classes available. Your instructor will help you select the one that better corresponds to your needs. They take place in a semi-private setting, and are a chance to focus on one specific aspect of your practice. 

Spanish pro basketball player Salva Arco Frías, seeking massage from professionals well-versed in sports medicine and functional anatomy, visited RSM through a hotel recommendation during his 10-day off-season. He received daily massages targeting different areas, preparing for the upcoming season.

RSM isn't just a school teaching massage and anatomy; it offers practical massage techniques chosen by European pro athletes.

RSM offers courses in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kumamoto, Japan, as well as in Sardegna, Italy, during April and May 2024.  Our Regular Massage courses in Chiang Mai commence on June 8th, following our world tour in Japan and Italy.

Hironori Ikeda's schedule begins with Postural Massage and Balance Ball Yoga Courses in Kumamoto, Osaka, and Tokyo, Japan, in April.
After these courses, Hiro will take his annual vacation in Europe.
During his vacation, he is scheduled to lead the Dynamic Myofascial Release Course in Sardinia, Italy, on May 25th and 26th. Following his holiday, Hiro will return to Chiang Mai to conduct RSM Massage courses starting on June 8th.

I took the 5 day/20h Trigger Point massage course followed by 10h of private Myofascial release training in Feb ‘24. Hiro is an extremely knowledgeable and talented teacher with several decades experience in sports medicine.

As a doctor, I really loved the experience of learning the anatomy and function of different muscles and tissues with very practical techniques of improving function and reducing pain. Hiro makes the anatomy learning feel simple and fun and it is a great feeling to try different massage techniques and see them improve function and range of motion in minutes!
This is a very practical course with lots of hands-on training and great feedback as you work. In the private myofascial sessions I was working 1 on 1 with Hiro and he was able to give me ongoing tips as I practiced on his body.

Hiro also organised two ‘knowledge sharing’ sessions with visiting professionals (accupuncturist, physiotherapist, judo therapist) which was a great opportunity to develop my understanding about complementary therapies and experience them for myself.
