Weekend training at RSM International Academy in Chiang Mai, Thailand, gives massage therapists, healthcare practitioners and movement professionals focused time to develop assessment and hands-on skills. Choose a course by its learning goal and entry requirements.

Dynamic Posture Assessment & Kinetic Chain Training develops movement observation, task comparison and practical video analysis. It runs for two days, eight teaching hours, at THB 7,000, including gym admission for both days, round-trip taxi transport to and from the gym, and movement video recording and analysis.

Orthopedic Massage for Breathing & Spine Mobility connects functional anatomy, breathing and spinal movement assessment with supervised non-thrust manual techniques. It runs for two days, eight teaching hours, at THB 6,000.

Hironori Ikeda, MSc Sports Medicine, connects demonstrations with supervised practice and direct correction. Students learn to explain the assessed task, select an appropriate intervention and repeat the same task to check the response. Functional anatomy and clinical palpation are integrated into Trigger Point Therapy (TPT). They are not currently offered as the former separate two-day weekend course.

Students identify bony landmarks, muscle attachments and actions, compare palpation with movement and muscle-function findings, and practise choosing contact, pressure direction and depth. The aim is to connect anatomical knowledge with a reasoned treatment choice and a matched re-test.

Use the functional anatomy and clinical palpation guide for the learning approach, and TPT for current entry requirements, dates and fees. The former THB 6,000 standalone workshop is no longer a booking option.

Deep Shiatsu material has been integrated into Deep Tissue Massage (DTM). The former separate weekend workshop and its THB 6,000 fee are no longer the current booking format.

The practical focus is controlled contact, therapist posture and weight transfer. Students relate traditional Shiatsu contact methods to functional anatomy and tissue response, then adjust direction, depth and load. Traditional concepts such as Qi are discussed as cultural descriptions, rather than established physiological mechanisms.

Orthopedic Massage for Breathing & Spine Mobility is a two-day course for practitioners with relevant massage, clinical or movement experience. Hironori Ikeda teaches rib and spinal anatomy, breathing-related movement assessment and the selection of soft-tissue and non-thrust joint techniques.

Practical work compares range of motion, breathing and the response to a defined task. Students adjust contact, direction, amplitude and load, then repeat the same task. Posture alone does not establish the cause of pain, and treatment choices remain within the practitioner’s training and professional scope.
